I have a background on Social Work and have been doing caregiving since 2001 when I took an interim job with a lady who had Alzheimer's. I was hooked! I have been a caregiver ever since. I find I love the one-on-one interactions and the opportunity to be helpful to an elderly person. I spent time daily with my grandparents growing up and have always loved older people. I am loving, caring, dependable, responsible and am someone who "gets the job done" when something needs to be taken care of. I have helped with all activities of daily living, provided transportation to appointments and shopping, have done hair (a little), laundry, light housekeeping, monitored and gave medications. I have always been in close contact with families so that they are aware of my client's needs and they also help me to be aware of the client's needs and personalities. Communication is key.
